ARTIST STATEMENTWhen entered into consciously and creatively, photography is living, looking, seeing. My object is to locate and frame naturally occurring compositions.I like to shoot a constrained field of highly textured surfaces both natural and human made at a range of around twenty-four inches. I'm also fond of larger natural scenes, especially water and skies. Some of my photographs are unretouched and others are digitally altered.

Beginning as a production artist in the early days of desktop publishing, Loretta has added graphic design, bookbinding, writing, and photography to her skill set. She now designs web sites and other marketing materials for fine artists. After taking numerous photographs to accompany articles she wrote for a lifestyle/real estate web site, Loretta became more serious about making art with her camera. She began showing her work in 2009 at "The Gift of Water," and “Sign & Portents” exhibits held at the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer in Kenmore. Loretta uses the Canon Rebel XSi and Kodak DX6490 digital cameras. |
